Africa was home to one of our earliest greatest civilizations - ancient Egypt and others. p. 409 Yoruba southwestern Nigeria regard their city of IFE "navel of the world" = site of creation, the first Ife ruler is "One Oduduwa" came down from heaven crate Earth and populate it.   The Ife populated the area around 800 CE and by the 11th century CE, Ife was a metropolis - today every Yoruba city claims descent. The metropolis centered around the Oni's palace in the design of concentric rings that connected to other Yoruba cities by roads.  Protective stone walls and moats were built to fortify their city.   It was and remains to be the sacred city of the Yoruba people. RESEARCH PAPER #1                                     A Deconstructive Analysis of  Akhenaten and His Family There are many unique art forms from across the globe and across the span of human existence but few were as influential and original as the art of Ancient Egypt. Their art was not only an expression of the fundamentals of their belief systems and culture, but also served as a vehicle to express the ways in which their society shifted. From a broad overlook, their art evolved slowly over a continuum of time from stiff to slightly more naturalistic -- but this progression was interrupted by one odd, bright moment of deep stylization.
